Our Story

Reviving a Finnish Legacy

Enifer was founded in 2020 by scientists from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland to revive and modernize the legendary PEKILO® process — originally developed in the 1970s. Today, Enifer transforms food industry side streams into nutritious, sustainable mycoprotein ingredients.

Headquartered in Espoo, the company is building Europe's first industrial mycoprotein facility, set to become a cornerstone of Finland's circular bioeconomy.
